Welcome

As you know, Heather and I recently went to Las Vegas to get married. This web site contains many of the photographs we took of the wedding and the honeymoon in Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as our diary of events and casual observations about America as we saw it.

Elvis and the happy couple

Our big adventure started in Las Vegas. For our wedding we were driven to the Chapel of the Bells by Elvis in his 1955 pink Cadillac, who then sung at our ceremony and then drove us up the Strip, much to the delight of onlookers.

After a very drunken night in the most amazing hotel either of us have ever seen, the honeymoon began with a brief flight to Los Angeles where we picked up a car and drove to our 50's retro motel in the heart of Hollywood. The next five days were spent eating burgers, drinking milk shakes and doing an obscene amount of shopping.

On our last evening in L.A., after spending a few hours in the California Institute of Abnormalarts (which is one of the strangest places ever), we headed off for a two-day leisurely drive along the Pacific Coast Highway towards San Francisco.

Everything you have seen of San Francisco is true, it really does have ridiculous hills! We did the whole tourist bit, went to Alcatraz and rode the cable cars up and down the hills. And then it was back home again.

By using the navigation bar to the left you can read our journal day by day, or just the places that interest you. We have included with the text some of the many photos we took, but there are also plenty of others in the photos section. Please, also, take the time to sign our guest book and add any comments you may wish to make.
